Film retrospective of the European avant-garde films of the 1930s from Gosfilmofond Archive accompanied by live soundtrack from the Moscow electronic Drojji duo, Andrei Kim (drums), Alexei Zaitsev and Kirill Shirokov (guitars).
Freely interacting with the program abstract films of Hans Richter, Oskar Fischinger, Walter Ruttmann and Man Ray, by turns together and separately musicians will provide the audience with new ways of films perception, reflecting and rhyming the image, sound and historical space of Illusion Cinema. The soundtrack as well as movies is intuitively distributed within the action — here musical improvisation, repeatedly smashing and assembling, is built into a single composition.
